This July the new harmonized sales tax will add 8% to the cost of funeral pre-planning. There will be an 8% additional tax to your purchases when you pre-plan and this will be on items and services that you're not paying tax on now. So it's wise to do your pre-planning prior to July. Make arrangements by July and you will not pay the new HST.
